INTRODUCTION:

What is Easter? Does the Bible support it? Is it a Christian festival? How does it relate to the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Are we supposed to celebrate Easter as Christians? What do we do with the feast since it has come to stay?  Or are we to ignore it? The best answer to these questions would be to ignore or avoid it completely. Yes because the Apostles who succeeded Jesus did not celebrate it, else the record of its celebration would have been recorded for us to see.

From the Bible record Easter is not associated with the resurrection of Jesus Christ, no. From the account of Jesus in the early morning resurrection, the Bible did not mention anything as Easter Jon. 20:1-10, even though the first day of the week was mentioned. And the first day resurrection does not in any way mean a change of the Sabbath. This is a spiritual attack against the Church.  

Today the Church of Christ has not even realized this. From these passages of his resurrection to his ascension which occurred after 40 days with his disciples on earth Acts. 1:3, there was nothing as Easter in connection with Christ or with our Salvation. No one tries to survey this from the Bible, our people hearing about Christ joins every foundation whether scriptural or not.

Neither does Easter mean Salvation or in any way relate with our Salvation. Instead it is against the Christian faith, when they tried to kill Apostle Peter Acts 12. It was only on this account that Easter was heard about for the first and only time in the Bible. If it is a Christian festival, the Bible would have continued to showcase its activity steadily.              

It is an ungodly festival which was derived from the Grecian kingdom and rested on Rome. From my book of Rapture you could see the number of the “world powers” and observe that “Greece ruled the world as the fifth world power”, after which Rome took over. The name was “Ishtar or estorea”, but it was late renamed Easter in the hands of Rome. It was in the world before the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It is not a Christian program because it dated back before the emergence of Christianity. It was in no way related to or associated with the resurrection of our lord Jesus Christ. It is very wrong for Rome to associate Easter with the resurrection of Jesus.  Jesus resurrected at least 50 days before the Church was established or inaugurated at Jerusalem at the upper room Acts.2.

JESUS’ RESURRECTION:

I will keep saying that Easter does not mean resurrection of Jesus Christ nor the Salvation of mankind.  It is in no way connected with Jesus resurrection or the Church of Christ. The Church of Christ had not been born when the resurrection of Jesus Christ occurred, therefore how could anyone associate the resurrection of Jesus with Easter and the Church?

LET’S SURVEY:

Let’s go to John’s book in Chapter 20:1-10 and see the resurrection of Jesus. Here there was nothing as Easter associated with his resurrection, and the Church had not been born. The Church was born 50 days after Jesus’ resurrection, and the Holy Spirit who took over from him inaugurated it Acts 2.  This happened on the day of Pentecost, a feast in Israel and the Jews. Again Easter entered into the Bible for the first time in connection with Apostle Peter’s arrest by King Herod. The establishment of the Church badly hit Judaism which the Jews were practicing as their religion. People were being converted to Christianity and it was grieving the Pharisee, the Sadducees, the high Priests etc.   

It was on this account that these group descended on the Apostles and demanded that they stop using the name of Jesus Christ in preaching, which Apostle Peter rejected before their faces. And because of this, they reported the incident to King Herod, who wanted to win their favor, and he arrested James the brother of John and slew him with the sword, and this pleased the Jews. Then he proceeded to arrest Apostle Peter also, but desiring after their Easter to kill him.

But Easter had been in the world before the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, how is it associated with his resurrection? I guess those who argue much on this never have time to study the Bible because this error is glaring.

Rome after their failure in massacring the Church later designed a program which the Church could unknowingly and ignorantly join. My question now is “have they not succeeded at last”? The answer is “they have succeeded”.  The Church today believes that all is well, it’s not true; all is not well. The Apostles did not mix with Rome’s programs and that’s why you don’t see such feasts in the Bible.

There were so many things which were taught us when we were infants and children, but when we grew up to study about those things we begin to laugh at such ideas.  For example, a young man heard from his teacher at school “that the sticks of sugar cane are the product used in producing sugar”.

He didn’t hear very well that there are processes to go before it would form as a cube. He went home and bought some sticks to a large quantity, extracted the waters and put it directly into a pot and began to cook it. But before he knew what was happening the waters had dried up and the pot began to heat badly.  So with this idea we know from here that there are errors somewhere.

It was either the teacher did not communicate well or the student didn’t understand him. But whatever happened thereafter, a mistake has been made. But still sugar cane remains the correct raw material for sugar production.  

Now it is very wrong for us entirely, to think and believe that Rome which killed all the Apostles and disciples of Jesus, and closed down his Church at Jerusalem, to begin to tell us that Easter was in connection with the resurrection of our lord. And we seem to listen and also to believe and practice their fables.

If it were in the days of Jesus on earth, what he would ask of us is “are you also without understanding”? Of course I ask; which of the Apostles was involved in the establishment of Easter as a feast of the Church and which Church in particular?  Scripture is needed for those who would dare to answer this question. But don’t say “it doesn’t matter” because it matters a lot.

If you do study your Bible very well, I say very well, you will understand that Jesus resurrected on the first day of the week and did not build the Church in his lifetime, but it was inaugurated by the Holy Spirit 10 days   after his ascension, according to Lev. 25:10; Acts.2.  The Bible recorded that he was on earth after his resurrection 40 days with the disciples before his ascension Acts 1:3. Add 40 days to 10 days and see Lev.25:10 come to pass.

Just as America is the seventh and last world power now.  And whenever their time elapses, the eight which is the seven (Europe) comes back to power. And that would be the time the great tribulation period shall start in the whole world.         

Rome was originally known with their Idol worship at that time. That was the reason the Emperors of Rome fought to destroy the Church because she was converting people out from idolatry to serve the living God. Have you not read about “the martyrs of Jesus”? What was the reason of the Martyrs and who martyred the Saints?  

The Saints or Apostles of Jesus who established the Church by the Holy Spirit were attacked by Roman soldiers, under the command of the Emperors, trying to close down the Church because in God’s program, Rome stands out as an enemy till tomorrow. Read about Daniel’s account on the fourth and terrible Beast Dan. 7:7.

This passage says the terrible Beast would trample on the residue (Church) with the feet of it”. The feet of this Beast in God’s master plan is “Iron” read Dan. 2:40. Observe the master plan from the book of Rapture which I recommended for you. Let’s continue with the record from the Bible.    

I have already said that Ishtar as an ungodly festival was in the world before the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When Jesus made mention of building his Church in Math 16:18, there was no Church in existence before then. He was the first to mention Church, as we know about “the law of first mention”.

This means whoever first says a thing or whoever creates a thing or a product will be referenced by others who may build on that product or may produce its kind later. Jesus as “the first and the last” Rev. 1:17, Isa.41:4 had to start the mention of Church in the world.  He said he would build his Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it Math. 16:18. we might ask “who or what the gate/s of Hell is? Do you need an answer? When you know those who stopped the church and tried to close it entirely?

Therefore Rome’s claim to be the first Church in the world is inaccurate but a fallacy. How could Rome start Jesus Church when he in his life time trained his Apostles and Disciples and called them all from Israel? If Roman Catholic was the first Church, what were the people they massacred and for what reason did they kill them?  

At that time he didn’t come to Rome, neither did he come to Rome after his resurrection; no, no such record exists. They now claimed that it was Apostle Peter who established the Church at Rome. The question is “did he establish that Church at Rome before they crucified him upside down or after his death”? One could laugh at this claim because it could not be substantiated at all.

WHAT IS THE GATES OF HELL?

Jesus in that prophecy foresaw Rome killing the saints and trying to close down his Church and he prophesied about it. Many people do not know what is or what the gates of Hell were. If you ask many people about the gates of hell, they refer you to “spirits or demons”.  Were the demons the ones who martyred the Church?

Or were the saints martyred by the Roman Emperors through their soldiers? You do not understand this because you were not the one martyred, otherwise you would have known it by force. Not only that, you have believed them as the Church of Christ because you do not know anything about Church.

It may interest you to know that Rome after closing down the Church by killing the Saint tried and assumed the first Church. This claim is what every Roman Catholic knows and says till tomorrow. They were earlier barred from reading the Bible, so that the Holy Spirit would not open their eyes as they read the Bible. They were earlier taught that the Bible is so big, and that its volume could make one mad, so it was only their priests that are qualified to touch it because they are holy.

They have many assumptions which they assume, among them was that Easter means resurrection of Jesus Christ. If they could claim such assumptions because they are blind to the Scriptures, are you also blind? If they are asked not to read the Bible, who is there to stop you from reading and studying it? If I’m reading and studying the Bible and nothing has happened to me, what will then happen to you?

But I have some tips for you. Do you know that they are opposed to all of God’s programs? Okay, where do they keep the second commandment in Ex. 20:4-6? It is none existent in their Catechism. If you doubt this, I ask you to say the second commandment. Hear what they say “thou shall not call the name of the lord thy God in vain”. But this is the “third” not the second commandment, and this is what they have for the second, true or false?

What of when God through Paul gave us his word “that every man aspiring to lead the Church as a Pastor, Bishop or teacher (must) be the husband of one wife” I Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:4-7? Do they obey it? All their Priests are unmarried from the least to the greatest. Not one is married among them but they are using women here and there, and have left even their Rev sisters provided for them and entered the society.

They have blinded the eyes of their people with assumptions that they no longer reason well again. Those of their Priests who study the Bible and come to this knowledge were attacked with treat against their lives. Many of their priests today have seen the green light from God but they are dying in silence because they have taken that oath unknowingly, and they do not know what to do.

But I have some tips for some of them who may care; Jesus said “if you are ashamed of me in this sinful and adulterous generation, of you shall I be ashamed when I shall appear in glory with the holy Angels” Mk.8:38. So risk your life for Christ and die as a martyr today, you would have made heaven direct.

What do I mean? Give your life to Christ and resign your appointment as a priest under them because of the light now in you and then get married to whomsoever you love to marry. The next thing they will do is to attack you up and down. You can run to any Country of the world for protection, and they will claim to follow you anywhere in the world. This will open your eyes the more because that’s how occults do when a member decamps from their midst.   Having seen the truth now you can also decide to die, instead of losing your Salvation.     

The Church at Jerusalem lived above 300 years before the enthronement of Emperor Constantine the great, who when he mounted the throne ordered that no killing of the saints should continue. You can browse the net and get more information on “The Martyrs of Jesus”. Constantine the great stopped the killing of the saints but inflicted a more severe injury on the church.

WHAT DID HE DO?

He stopped the killing of the saints but ordered that “Anyone who does not worship God on the first day should be killed”. He was instrumental to the changing of the Sabbath day to “the day of the sun”, otherwise known as “Sun-day for their sun-god”. This was the day they worship the sun. Now this “sun-day” is reorganized internationally as Sunday and no longer as “the day of the sun”.  But only Israel doesn’t acknowledge the first day service or worship of God. I’m in support of the Sabbath day till tomorrow. 

This sun was their male god while their female god was the moon.  So they cunningly changed “the moon day” to “Monday”. They removed one “o” and joined others in order to remove the understanding from those who might argue it, or try to educate others on the issue.

 What we are using in the whole world except Israel is the Roman calendar. Every day is associated with a god. Thus they have fulfilled Daniel’s prophecy that says “And they shall think to change times and law” Dan. 7:25. They have done it. The Sabbath day is now on Sunday while the days go after their gods.

But do you know that God has not changed the Sabbath day and will not change it? If you say anything to open the eyes of your own people, your own people will attack you first before they come, especially their members. Some believers will even say, “just preach the word, it doesn’t matter, what matters is preaching the word and converting souls”.

But Jesus said “teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you” Matt.28:19-20. Therefore the most important thing is to teach people to observe the truth of the Bible, and not to leave one side unattended.

INTRODUCTION:

Some of the existing issues or problems which we as the Church need to correct in the Church today are the issues heightened by Rome. One of these problems is on “Pastors and Bishops which is greater”? Evidently the Bible listed the fivefold ministry of the Church. This record is found in Eph. 4:11. It says “and he gave to some Apostles and to some to Prophets, and to some Evangelists, and to some Pastors and to some teachers”. In these fivefold ministry, Bishop is not included.

There is nothing as Bishop/s in the fivefold ministry here. However the existence of the office of the Bishops in scripture was created by the Apostles. We are going to discuss about it here as we continue in the study. But let us first continue with the fivefold ministry of the Church.  The Church according to Jesus was in total control of God’s business through the above mentioned offices.

THE APOSTLES WERE IN CHARGE:

The offices of the Apostles were the leading offices of the Church, as we know that Peter the Apostle was made the head of others. He was asked to strengthen his brethren by the Lord. In fact, the Churches were planted by the Apostles in the early Century, about AD 25-90. You can understand how Apostle Paul planted many Churches in Ephesus, in Philippi, in Colossae and just to mention but a few.

When they open up a Church they would plant a Pastor there to teach them. One clear example was Timothy who was ordained a Pastor to the Church at Ephesus. He was Pasturing the Church there and Paul told him not to allow anyone deride his youthful age. He was also instructed to look out for men of unquestionable character and ordain them as Bishops Tim. 3. The Pastor was asked to ordain Bishops in his Church just to help the Pastor.

Another example of a Pastor who was in charge of a church was Pastor Titus who was in Crete posted there by Apostle Paul Titus. 1:3-5. It was the duty of the Apostles to establish a Church and the Pastors would be drafted there to teach them.  Titus was also instructed to seek out for men of good characters in his Church and ordain them as Bishops or Elders of the Church, just to help the Pastors.

The Evangelists were field workers of the Church like Evangelist Philip who went to Samaria to preach when persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem. At that time every office of the Church was active and none was dormant. Though in these offices, all of them were teachers to the Church. This does not rule out the office of the teachers, no. The Apostles in addition were teachers to the Church, like when the Bible said that Paul taught the Church, Peter taught the Church etc.  

HOW DID BISHOP APPEAR IN SCRIPTURE?

According to the Bible, the office of the Bishops was established at the instance of the Apostles. It was not in the fivefold ministry of the Church, so to say.  The Apostles established the office of the Bishops to admonish the Church where there was no Pastor to handle the art of preaching and teaching the Church. The root word or the etymology of the word Bishop is derived from two words

1.   From the Latin word “episcupus” and meaning “elder or Bishop”.

2.   From the Greek word “episcopos”. 

These have one meaning “elder”.  Therefore the word Bishop means an “Elder” of the church. Bishop in biblical context does not mean Pastor but elder. And according to the Apostles, the elders which were ordained in the Bible were to teach and to admonish the people where there  no Pastor, no teacher, no Evangelists, no Prophets or Apostles resident for that local church.

The Bishops were accountable to the Pastors, and to the Apostles etc. They did not rob any shoulder/s with the Pastors or the Apostles. In fact Apostle Paul instructed Titus to select men in his church who were to be ordained as elders or Bishops Titus.1:5. These elders were selected by the Pastor of a local Church, based on their good conduct and ability to perform one thing or the other to support and help the Pastor.

But these day people select themselves and ordain themselves as Bishops, and they have usurped the authorities of the Pastors. What we see today is a clear shift of the scriptural bishops. And they are no longer under the Apostles how much more the Pastors. Today no Bishop has any time to listen to the Apostles who are the greatest in God’s settings. This will now inform you what I’m saying about the trend of things.

HOW DID THE BISHOPS GROW WILD OUT OF SRIPTURAL POSITION?

God’s settings in the Church were normal and properly organized until Rome entered into it. Of course the other name for Rome is “Dominance”. Once they enter into any group or association, they dominate it. The Emperors were killing the Church until the appearance of Constantine the great. Constantine did much evil to the church by enacting many decrees which did not favor the church. When Rome entered into the Church, the settings in the Church changed. 

Remember that Prophet Daniel prophesied that “the Beast or the horn shall think to Change times and Law” Dan.7:25. This was done as soon as Emperor Constantine the great took up the throne of Rome. It was this Emperor who stopped the killing of the Church by his Roman Predecessors. Yes what the former Emperors were doing was to fulfill the prophecy of Daniel, which said “the terrible Beast devoured and broke in pieces and stamped the residue with the feet of it” Dan.7:7.  

But when Constantine stopped the killing of the members of the Church, he inflicted another heavy wound on the same Church. He thought he was doing God a service, but instead, he carried ahead the programs of his master the Devil.

It was Constantine who made the decree to stop “Sabbath day worship” to “Sunday worship” which was a service to “the Sun god”. Although before this decree to change the Sabbath to Sunday was made, he had already changed God’s system of ministers. He appointed a Bishop from Rome over the Pastors, the Apostles, and the fivefold ministry to be headed by Rome. This was where Rome came in as a part of the Church.

But before this exercise was made the church had been over three hundred years in existence at Jerusalem etc. He made one of the Roman people a Bishop to oversee the Church of Christ, and those who opposed his decree were eliminated.  Imagine when an idolater was appointed as the Pastor or Bishop over the church, what does the idolater know about the Church? After eliminating all those who opposed this setup, they now claimed to be the first Church. This claim lasted over a thousand years and no one could make mention of the Church at Jerusalem again.

NOW THE QUESTIONS ARE?

Considering their claim of being the first church, we present these questions to them and their Bishops, their clergy and those who join them to make the claim.

1.   Who owns the Church? Answer- Jesus Christ

2.   From which nation? Answer – from Nazareth in Israel

3.   From which Continent? Answer- Asia

4.   But who inaugurated the Church? Answer- the Holy Spirit

5.   Where was it inaugurated? Answer- At Jerusalem (upper Room)

6.   On which Occasion? Answer- the feast of Pentecost Acts. 2.

7.   Does Rome celebrate feast of Pentecost? No

 8.   What’s the relationship between Rome and Israel at that time? 
  
  9.Answer- Rome was the sixth world power which was ruling the world at that time, and they intruded into the affairs of the Church through prophecy. 
  10.What is the evidence of this claim? Answer- Augustus Caesar gave order that the world should pay tax Lk.2.

 11.   Is it true that Apostle Peter established the Roman Church? Answer- No.

 12.                      How was he used on this claim? Answer- Peter was even killed by Emperor Nero before the entrance of Rome into the church. It is therefore a false claim.

 13.                      But why was his name used? Answer- It was only to deceive the people, and to cover their wickedness and to make people to believe in their games.

14.                     About what time did Rome enter into the church? Answer- After about 311 to 312 AD. Church was in existence over 300 years before they entered.

15.                     Which prophecy brought them into the church? Dan.7:7 & 7:25.

PENTECOSTAL BISHOPS ARE FOLLOWING ROME’S EXAMPLE. 

But Biblical bishops were under the Pastors before Constantine elevated the Roman Bishop over the Church. This elevation lifted up the shoulders of the Roman Bishops and they derided and despised the Pastors and other officers of the Church. And since then the Roman Bishops have never respected any officer of the Church.

They were highly lifted and are seen as “holy priests or even God, for that they were arrayed in Royal Robs”. But the Pastors of the Church were not and are not in Royal Robs.  Now our own people, i.e “the Pastors” are now desiring and ordaining themselves like the Roman Bishops. We are envying the Roman setup, and following the footsteps of Rome over the Church of Christ as well. This is a wrong concept. Many people in the Church, especially those with ambition to be a minister of God, are now going to be installed Bishops in accordance to Roman specification.    

HEAR MY DECLARATION:

Any Pastor who goes ahead to ordain himself as a Bishop has actually demoted himself to the position of the Elder of the Church. God has not changed his system or setup of the Church, no matter how you look at it. The Bible Bishops were only elders of the Church. They are not Pastors, nor greater than the Pastors. So the Pastors are greater than the Bishops.

This book has most of the questions you might ask about the Beast or the Antichrist, and also the relevant answers thereto. Let’s begin to read from the book of Daniel who first saw four great Beasts which were diverse one from the other in Dan.7:1-7, and then we read from Apostle John who saw the same Beast after its formation in Revelation Rev. 13:1-2 coming from the Sea, read:

In Dan. 7:4-7 the Beasts here were called "horns" and in Rev. 13:1-2, the Bible showcases a Beast with seven heads and ten horns coming from the Sea, now completed. This Beast is actually the one thought to be the Antichrist, the one who would blaspheme God and the dwellers in heaven at the great tribulation Period. He would also oppose or be against the Church of Christ in the last days. These four Beasts represented authorities which we called "the World Powers" in the book of Rapture. The World Powers were known in the Bible as "the kings of the earth", they were seven in number Ps.2:2 and Rev. 17:10.

If we ask you today who are the world Powers you will quickly answer France, Germany, China, or even Britain etc. Your answers might stem from the fact that these Nations have developed one nuclear energy or some biological or chemical weapons. But I assure you with clarity that they are not World Powers. World powers were the Nations or the kings of those nations which held God’s own people Israel in one captivity or the other, these are world Powers.

And they are seven in number, but six out the seven handled Israel badly. starting with Egypt. Name them 1. Egypt, 2. Assyria, 3. Babylon, 4. Persia, 5. Greece and 6. Rome. This was how they made their captivities on Israel in chronological order. We will now show details from the formation, while more explanation will be obtained from the book of Rapture. It is imperative we know that the book of Daniel goes hand in hand with the book of Revelation. Let’s continue.

THE FIRST BEAST IN THE FORMATION: Dan.7:4; Rev. 13:1-2. These Beasts were figuratively identified with their actions or performances. Lion was the first in the formation and it represented the Nation or king of Babylon, in the person of Nebuchadnezzar. He acted or behaved as an animal (a Lion) which shows no mercy to its victims. He threw the three Hebrew boys into fire for failure to worship the image he erected, and by so doing he became an animal. Let us continue with what Daniel saw in his night visions.

"I saw in my visions by night, and behold the four winds of heaven strove upon the great Sea. Four great Beasts came up from the Sea diverse one from the other. The first was like a Lion and had eagle’s wings. I beheld till the wings were plucked and was lifted up from the earth, and was made to stand on its feet as a man. Man’s heart was given to it" Dan. 7:4. Now observe these descriptions, "the four winds" means "the Cardinal points or the four geographical locations of the world.".
1. The East, 2. The West, 3. The North and 4. The South of the world. It means each Beast represented each geographical point or each part of the world.

So it is a world event and no part of the world shall be exempted. Again "the great Sea" means the People/s of the world. No racial discrimination will be involved or observed in the whole exercise. "Four great Beasts" means "the four kings" which were drafted into the master plan of the program, or that appeared in the master plan of the Beast kingdom, which were 1. Gold, 2. Silver,3.Bronze and 4. Iron.

THE FIRST BEAST WAS LIKE A LION: The first Beast in the master plan was the gold and Lion champion in the person of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon being the only man whose heart was changed for all the beasts. He was also driven to the bush for seven years like an animal. When he came for the formation, it was a Lion that came and it was given the heart of man and was made to stand on its feet as a man. Now lion as the king of all animals believes no other could arouse or terrify it. Lion roars and boasts Prov. 30:30. He boasted to the three boys, asking them "who is that God that can deliver you from my hands"? Dan. 3:15. He also beat all and carried gold in the competitions, see football and world cup as a metaphor in the book of Rapture.

He laid the foundation for all other animals to follow in the program. He was a Beast because of his action. He cast the three Hebrew boys into naked fire without the feeling that they were human beings like him. It may surprise you why he figured out as Gold. In every competition, Gold is the first desire of Nations which gather for the game, but eventually it will be taken by the strongest team. And the same thing happens with Lion as a Champion of other animals. In the explanation of Nebuchadnezzar's first dream Daniel informed him saying,

"Thou art the head of Gold" Dan. 2:38, in the master plan. So the Beast was a man whose heart was changed. He was then driven to the bush for seven years and he was operating in the bush with the heart of a beast, is God not wonderful?.

He had boasted in two separate occasions, 1. in Dan.3:15 i.e against Hannaniah, Mishael and Azariah and 2. In 4:30 at his Palace in Babylon when he watched his (Hanging Gardens) which made it possible for him to be driven to the bush. Yet this Gardens were built for him by the people of Israel in his captivity. Sending him to the bush was not ordinary; he was fighting a war for his kingdom. You must know that there is a war between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. Many Pastors are not seeing it that way. Some believe he was just lifting himself up ordinarily, no.

It is the reason they say they will run away or that they shall be taken in the Rapture before the coming of Antichrist or before the great tribulation. So Lion was coming to the formation with one head, and that was the head of a lion in Rev.13:1-2. It will be the mouth which shall boast again at the great tribulation and also the mouth that shall blaspheme the dwellers in heaven at that period.
Yes because the Bible says it was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies Rev. 13:5. And by his qualification and position he stood at the meeting point waiting for other Beasts to come for the joining with his own head. With the head of the Lion we have counted one head of the Beasts. One head for now. Expect to see others in the next post.

THE FAULT WAS CAUSED BY OUR FATHER

INTRODUCTION:
On a particular day I was discussing with an Elder in the village. His name was MR. Otumba. We were talking about the importance of at least basic education. That there is no alternative to it. He cried out "Oh it was our father’s fault". Then I cut in immediately asking him, "what’s your father’s fault"? He started to narrate his story to me. As he was talking, he was crying, then I comforted him not to cry because it was too late to do so now. The mistake had been made for a long period of time
It was a real life story of what happened to him. In fact it was about him and his junior brother Edwin who had become rich because he was educated by the whites for free when they visited the village at first. He said it all started when the early Missionaries reached our village. We had not seen such color of people before.

That they were viewed as ghosts and everyone was running because we were black and had not seen white people before. While the white men were beckoning on people to come nearer, he said "we were running away". Their color intimidated us he said. We therefore did not heed their plea to come, neither did we think they had good intentions for us.

But those who managed to come nearer were given basic education free. Some of us listened to our
Primitive fathers or Parents who told us that these men were ghosts, that we should not go nearer the white men. My father said they would beat me seriously, instead that I should follow him to the farms. I obeyed my father and followed him to the farm and he appointed Edwin, who was regarded as "a heady Child" in the family to go there and receive the white man’s beatings with canes.
Edwin went to school and was educated. I cut in immediately and asked him, "but did you not see that he was progressing from your daily assessement"? He said he didn’t understand anything from him whether he was progressing or not. I cut in again and asked him "was it whose fault then"? He didn't answer this question this time around.

He said "all I know was that he was going to school and coming back". I also queried "when he went to school and came back, did you ask him if he was beaten at all by the white men"? He answered "I didn’t ask him about it and that’s where I made my own mistake". Then I said "it was not all your father's fault".

So I said "you were also faulty, not only your father" and he said "yes". He quickly added, "but even if I had asked him, he would not have given me a good answer". Then I said, "I don’t agree with you because you couldn't predict what you didn't try out. And even if he lied to you, you would know the truth from others because he was not the only person going to school at that time, was he"?, and he now agreed finally. According to him Edwin was educated to the level called "Standard six" at that time. This level was offered the job of being interpreters to the whites because, having studied under the whites, they heard them well and would interpret their message to the people. This was the level the missionaries used to translate the Bible in the people's languages. And this level played important roles at that time. Some of them were appointed kings or councilors by the whites.

Standard six people were also offered teaching jobs, and others appointed as "Court clerks" and "Village heads". In fact Edwin was a teacher before the Nigeria civil war and was appointed as "Sole administrator" to the defunct East Central State, with Aba local Government headquarters immediately after the Nigeria and Biafra civil war, i.e in 1970. He made money through that office. He was driving his official car "Peugeot 504 GL", one of the best at that time under the military regime. And he commanded a lot of respect in the village. In fact, no one challenged him in terms of money, because at that time we were trying to survive from the war.

As I was listening, he was narrating these things to me. He said "see his house beautiful" "his children schooling at one of the best schools in town". I cut in again and asked, "but did you not enjoy going to the farm with your father"? Hear him "of what use is it now"? Then I continued "but why did you not insist that you want to go to school, when he didn't complain to your father that the whites were beating him"? He said, "I wanted to answer and be seen as obedient child to my father, and now it has cost me a lot of things, see my children, no education for them and he does not care either. I asked again, "have you approached him for help with your children's education"? He said he had not done so, but that at least he is seeing them at home on many occasions.

"But how did you enjoy the farm I queried again"? He answered, "well my father used to roast yams in the farm and we would eat it with some vegetables like "cent leaves" or "boiled bitter leaves", and then we mixed them with Red oil and pepper, then adding Salt". "No I won’t lie we enjoyed it he said". "But it is not the alternative to basic education, in fact there’s no alternative to education at all".
Mr. Otumba blamed all things on his father but admitted that he himself made a blunder through his father’s ignorance. Yes, when Edwin was going and coming back from school, he did not get any information from him, even from other Pupils who were allowed to go to school by their own Parents. As at that time he did not make any effort to join them, I believe his father would have left him to his choice to join others to school.

Now he is hipping all blames on his father who was ignorant of the happenings in the world.
Send your children to school for there is no alternative to education. Whatever one does on earth, education is important. Whether he would be a trader or a Driver, education will help him/her to a greater height than those who were not enlightened. It helps you even to communicate to your world, that which you want to offer to the people.

Education serves as a lifter to every height in business or in any other field.
